Welcome!

Michael and I have been married for almost 9 years. We have two wonderful children, Michael Jr., and Megan. We also have 4 canine "children". Sampson, a 2-year-old Boxer, Dallas, a 4-year-old Boxer, Georgiana, a 8-month-old Boxer, and Brandy, a 7-year-old German Shepherd. And then, we can't forget the aquarium full of fish!

We live in a small town in north-eastern North Carolina. I have lived in quite a few places--West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma--but I think that I like North Carolina the best, even if I do have allergies now that I never had before! The only thing that I miss is snow. We haven't had a god snow here since before I moved here in 1990. They say that we may have some this year, and I truly hope so! *UPDATE* Back in January 2000 we had 28 inches of snow! I got stuck in it for 5 hours on my way home from work. Thank God for some people that had a backhoe and were able to pull me out of the ditch that I got stuck in! We were snowed in for 3 days. I have some pictures and will get them up here as soon as I get them developed. We are going out west to visit my parents for the Holidays and I hope we see some out there.

I work at a pharmecutical company (can you say PROZAC?), and homeschool my children. I have worked a 12-hour night shift for 9 years and this is helpful in that I can be at home with the children during the day and I only work 176 days a year. Michael is an airplane mechanic supervisor and builds engines. We love to rider our 4-wheelers on the weekends and I will take pictured of that soon to put on here. We also love to snow ski, water ski, and go to the beach.

Michael, the kids, and I each have hobbies that we truly adore. Michael loves to build model airplanes. Most of them that he does, he has built himself from patterns, and not from a kit. He does this so that he can make it exactly how he wants them, and make alterations to them as he sees fit to make them even better. Here are just a few that he has built over the years--

Michael got the kids model rockets for Christmas last year and they really enjoy them. They got to help put them together and paint them. When the weather is agreeable, we go out into the field beside our house and launch them. Mikey has the "Goliath" and Meg has the "Alpha". They are launched from a launcher that has a key and will not launch until the key is turned. Meg really wasn't frightened of hers when she first got it, but they saw their first big fireworks display this year and she hasn't liked them since then. They don't make any noise other than a "wwoooosh" when they take off, but she is still a little skittish.

For my hobbies, you'll have to go to the next page! :o)
